
This acclaimed pastel artist is a native of Eastern Washington, and has traveled extensively
throughout California, Hawaii, China, and France, creating his Fresh Air®(outdoor) masterpieces.
Reif (pronounced ray-f) is recognized worldwide for his colorful and interpretive landscapes and
earthscapes. "I touch the earth with my heart and paint the spirit of the land," says Reif.
"My paintings are more than pigment and paper. They are light, and heart, and I paint the heart
of the land.. Make the journey with me and touch the earth again."
Reif graduated with honors from Gonzaga University, in Spokane, Washington. He has won awards in
numerous competitions throughout the U.S. since 1981, and was featured in The Pastel Journal,
September 2002. Reif is a member of several art communities including: Distinguished Pastellist
of the West Coast Pastel Society, charter member of the Sierra Pastel Society, member of the prestigious
California Art Club, and Past President of the Pastel Society of the West Coast.
