SureWest is proud to feature an annual competition to support artists within our communities, and reawaken the synergies between art and business.
SureWest sees this directory cover art program as a way to showcase artists in the communities we serve and enhance the design of our premier publications, the Roseville, Citrus Heights, Granite Bay Directory, the Greater Sacramento Directory, the Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Placerville Directory and the Auburn, Grass Valley, Nevada City Directory.
The program solicits local artists to submit samples of their work to be considered for a directory cover. An artistic theme is suggested, submissions are narrowed down and evaluated on the following criteria:
- Does the image strongly represent the artistic theme?
- Is the color and composition of the image striking and memorable?
- Is the image appealing when presented within the directory cover format?
Each selected artist receives the following:
- A cash award of $500
- Publication of their artwork on the directory cover
- Artist biography published in the directory
- A free ad within the classified section of directory if applicable and within the online directory ( www.sacramento.com )
- Posters of their artwork
- Inclusion of artwork on marketing materials for the directories
- Press releases and media exposure
