included the following local celebrities
or community leaders:
- Steve Art — Steve Art relocated to Northern California in 2001 to become the economic development manager for the City of Lincoln. Working closely with civic and community organizations, Mr. Art is the liaison between City Hall and the community. He is also an active member of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, the Lincoln Arts Board of Directors, the Placer Valley Tourism Business Improvement District and the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County.
- Chris Boyd — Chris Boyd was appointed chief of police in January 2006 and launched police operations for the newly-formed Citrus Heights Police Department in June 2006. Chief Boyd began his law enforcement career on the San Francisco peninsula 17 years ago. He and his family currently reside in Granite Bay.
- Dr. Leo Chavez — Dr. Leo Chavez was appointed superintendent/president of the Sierra Community College District in July 2006. He has an extensive 30-year career in higher education and leadership in public service through organizations and committees such as the Latino Advancement Project and The League for Innovation in the Community College. As superintendent/president he directs the District’s resources to serve the many communities within an area spanning 3,200 square miles and four campus locations.
- Al Donald — An Associate medical group administrator at Kaiser North Valley, Al Donald has worked for Kaiser for 27 years and enjoys being part of an integrated health care organization that currently serves 456,000 members in the Northern Valley and each year donates approximately $300 million to community programs in Northern California. He has lived in Roseville for more than 30 years, where he raised his family, and is now a proud Grandpa of three.
- Mayor Gina Garbolino — A native of the Netherlands and 36-year resident of Roseville, Gina Garbolino currently serves the citizens of Roseville as mayor. Mayor Garbolino also holds the position of vice president for community relations at the Roseville Bank of Commerce and has been involved in leadership of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce and many community service organizations including the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County and the Roseville Arts Center.
- Susan Goto — An active Roseville resident proud of her 51-year Roseville residency, Susan Goto is a retired Roseville City School District teacher and currently serves as a school board member. As an educational leader in the community, she also participates in such international organizations as Alpha Delta Kappa (an honorary educators sorority) and the Cultural Homestay International program, which takes Buljan Middle School students for an annual cultural/educational trip to their sister school in Maesawa, Japan.
